HOME THE PROJECT aims to provoke and challenge current perceptions of how different people understand HOME—whether digital nomad, nationalist, or refugee. The word is a noun, adverb, and adjective, reflecting that it’s meaning is diverse and can have a unique significance for each individual. What do their stories show us about the similarities and differences between people’s sense of HOME and the relationships between individual and society? We explore the notion that people seem to search for home; for identity, community, fairness, understanding and acceptance. We explore the concept from various perspectives; architectural, sociological, philosophical and ecological. We delve into cities and rural contexts to ask: is HOME past, present or future; a place or process? Through multiple media HOME THE PROJECT aims to make an impact—by providing a participative platform for ideas and debate.
